What WorkMemoir connects to, what each connection can read, what it cannot, and how to disconnect it.
Ask — read-only
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other MCP clients can read the parts of your memoir you approve and answer from them. There is no write scope — an assistant can never change an entry.
Set up an assistantCapture — into your inbox
Slack, GitHub, Linear and forwarded email bring finished work into your private Evidence Inbox as candidates. Nothing becomes a memoir entry until you approve it.
Open integrationsAsk
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Claude Code or any MCP client. You choose scopes on the consent screen: memoir, goals and current role, and optionally AI answers.
Read-only, revocable, and each connection has its own budget.
Setup guideCapture
Save a message with /memo, and receive optional reminders and weekly digests in Slack.
It reads the command you send and your basic profile — never your channel or DM history.
Connect SlackCapture
Imports merged pull requests and closed issues you authored as inbox candidates. Turn on “Only track work worth remembering” to drop chores and dependency bumps.
WorkMemoir reads the items and your login — not your code, commits or repository settings.
Connect GitHubCapture
Imports completed issues assigned to you, with the same “only track work worth remembering” filter.
WorkMemoir reads those issues — not projects, documents, comments or other teams' work.
Connect LinearCapture
Every account has a private forwarding address in Settings. Forward a message worth keeping and it lands in your memoir as a memo.
Start the subject with [win], [lesson], [feedback], [incident] or [decision] to file it; no tag means Kudos.
Review
Imported items wait here until you approve them. Approve to turn one into a memoir entry, dismiss it, or ignore low-value batches.
Nothing is published, and nothing reaches your memoir without your review.
Open your inboxWorkMemoir cannot connect to your mailbox or calendar, and there is no meeting-recording access. Email arrives only when you forward a message yourself. AI assistants receive only the scopes you approve and cannot write to your memoir.
| Connection | Can read | Cannot |
|---|---|---|
| AI assistants (MCP) | The memoir, goals and context, and AI answers — only the scopes you approve. | Change anything (no write scope) or read your email or calendar. |
| Slack | The /memo command you send and your basic profile. | Read channel or DM history, or post anything you did not ask for. |
| GitHub | Merged pull requests and closed issues you authored, plus your login. | Read code, commits, repository settings or anything you did not author. |
| Linear | Completed issues assigned to you. | Read projects, documents, comments or other teams' issues. |
| Messages you forward to your private WorkMemoir address. | Read your mailbox, contacts or calendar. |
GitHub and Linear sync once a day and only import items that are merged or completed. The “Only track work worth remembering” filter may also have skipped chores.
The token was revoked, expired or belongs to a disconnected connection. Reconnect from Settings or from the assistant's connector settings.
Each AI-assistant connection is limited to 60 requests a minute, and AI answers have their own limit. Wait a moment, then retry.
An assistant answers only from what you have recorded. Capture more memos, approve inbox candidates, or ask a narrower question.
